Take me to the carnival
Trinidad de Cuba, a traveling carnival arrives to town for a week.
For the local kids who normally pass their time by playing baseball or football (soccer) in the streets it is an absolute delight.
The rides are old and shaky, maintenance looks poor and safety measure are beyond existence, kids and adults move freely between moving facilities and yet by some miraculous way the day goes by peacefully.
For the outsider, the surreal visualization of the fair feels like a vivid dream of a long forgotten past when life was simple and fun, when all it took was a shaky ride, sweet ice-cream and a sunny day for some good time.
